How do I see the original and translation together?

Open Sonic Translate's Options page, go to Other Settings, and switch on Bilingual display. From then on, every translation in the quick popup and the full panel shows the original text and its translation together — two labeled, stacked blocks, each with its own listen button.

How do I turn on bilingual display?

1. Click the Sonic Translate icon in your toolbar, then the gear icon to open Options.
2. Scroll to Other Settings.
3. Switch on Bilingual display.

The toggle is off by default and applies to your next translation — no reload needed. While you're there, you can also switch on Pronounce original text to hear the source read aloud automatically after each translation.

What changes in the popup and panel?

With bilingual display on, every result shows two stacked blocks: the original text on top, the translation below, each labeled with its language. Each block has its own listen button, so you can play the source and the translation separately using your browser's voices.

This applies everywhere Sonic Translate shows a result: the quick popup (select text, press Ctrl+E) and the full panel (Shift+E, or right-click a selection and choose "Translate with Sonic"). Press Escape to close the view and stop any audio.

Does it change the webpage itself?

No. The bilingual view lives inside the Sonic Translate popup and panel — the page you're reading is never modified. Sonic Translate translates the text you select, not whole pages. If you want an entire page translated, use Chrome's built-in translation or Firefox's website translation.

How do language learners use it?

A simple study loop with real web content:

1. Select a sentence on any page and press Ctrl+E.
2. Read the original and the translation together, comparing wording and structure.
3. Play both blocks with their listen buttons to hear pronunciation. Voice coverage depends on the voices installed on your device — see text-to-speech voices.
4. Open the full panel (the popup's expand button, or Shift+E) and tap any word in the dictionary to translate it on its own. Definitions are grouped by part of speech, with reverse translations and synonyms, and every word and reverse translation is clickable there.

Bilingual display works with all 109 languages Sonic Translate supports, including auto-detected source languages.
