Changelog

Version 1.2.0 is the release currently in the Chrome Web Store, and the baseline this changelog starts from. It includes everything Sonic Translate is today: selection translation on any webpage with two customizable keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+E for the quick popup, Shift+E for the full side panel), 109 languages with automatic detection, and a right-click menu item for translating selections.

The full panel carries the built-in dictionary — definitions grouped by part of speech, reverse translations, and synonym chips, with every word clickable to translate next — plus searchable language pickers and your local translation history with favorites. Bilingual display, per-language text-to-speech voices with a US/UK English accent preference, and auto-pronounce round out the options. Both Chrome and Firefox builds ship from the same codebase (MV3, Firefox 109+).

The initial public release: a soft launch of the core idea — select text on any page, press a shortcut, and get an instant translation in a popup next to your selection, powered by Google Translate, with no account and no tracking by us. The 1.x releases that followed refined the popup, panel, options, and shortcut recording into the extension described above.
