Does Sonic Translate translate whole pages?

No. Sonic Translate translates only the text you select — it never translates a whole page, by design. For full-page translation, use your browser's built-in translator: Chrome and Firefox both include one. Sonic Translate works alongside it, adding a keyboard shortcut, a dictionary, synonyms, and read-aloud.

How do I translate a full page in Chrome?

Chrome has page translation built in:

1. Open the page you want to translate.
2. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose Translate to [your language].
3. Or click the Translate icon at the right end of the address bar and pick a language.

How do I translate a full page in Firefox?

Firefox translates pages locally, on your device:

1. Open the page. Firefox often offers to translate it automatically.
2. If not, click the translation icon in the address bar.
3. Choose the target language and click Translate.

What don't the built-in translators do?

Their job is the whole page — for a selection, the most they offer is a right-click menu item. Neither browser gives you:

• A keyboard shortcut for selected text. Chrome users keep asking for one, and so do Firefox users. Sonic Translate's answer: select text, press Ctrl+E.
• A dictionary. No definitions by part of speech, no reverse translations, no synonyms.
• Voice choice. Sonic Translate reads both the original and the translation aloud using your browser's voices, with a per-language voice picker and a US/UK English accent preference.
• Local history. Sonic Translate keeps up to 100 entries stored only on your device, with favorites, and one toggle turns it off.

Should I use both together?

Yes — they cover different jobs:
